What is Medicare?
Medicare is for people who are 65 years of age or older(or for people under 65 years of age with disabilities). Medicare has 4 parts and is a federal health insurance program:
Part A (Hospital Insurance)
Part B (Medical Insurance)
Part C (Medicare Advantage)
Part D (prescription drug insurance)
Most Medicare Advantage plans combine Medicare Parts A, B and D coverage into one plan. These plans may also include additional benefits, such as hearing, vision and fitness benefits.

Meet Michael
For more than 20 years, Michael Cantara has an extensive history working with Health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, Business Insurance, Homeowners, Auto and life insurance. Michael began his career assisting employees in companies with their supplemental coverages as part of their health insurance coverages with AFLAC.
Soon after Michael realized he could better help small business owners and their employees by offering a full package of group health, supplemental plans, Dental, Vision along with programs for pre-tax. Michael grew into helping his small business partners with advising them for their Business Insurance plans. Including liability, property, business auto, workers comp, and commercial umbrella plans.
For almost 10 years Michael operated as a captive agent for Farm Family Insurance Co. In 2011 Michael decided that becoming an independent agent would better serve his clients.
Michael started his insurance agency as a DBA, Michael D Cantara Agency, forming his LLC in 2018 to Michael D Cantara Agency LLC. Since 2015 Michael began offering Medicare to his clients that were ageing into Medicare. Since offering Medicare coverages his Agency has grown, hiring three agents to his team. His Agency Covers Erie, Niagara, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Allegany, Wyoming, Orleans, Monroe, and Livingston counties. Michael Has extensive knowledge in Medicare with the different plans offered, regulations and laws that you need to know to keep you compliant and penalty free. Michael is certified through the American Health Insurance Plan (AHIP), to keep up with the changes that occur from year to year. All his team members are certified as well with AHIP. Michael feels strongly in helping seniors “make the most of your Medicare" by helping beneficiaries understand their options and choosing the best plan for their needs.
